WATCH: Hit on head, cautious Novak Djokovic ‘comes prepared’ for Italian Open match

A day after getting hit on the head, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic came ‘fully prepared’ to avoid such mishaps. The current world number one employed a rather unusual tactic for a tennis player while he arrived at the Internationali BNL d’Italia tournament in Rome recently.

The Djoker wore a biking helmet while entering the stadium. He took to X to share the clip and captioned it: “Today I came prepared.”

For the unversed, Djokovic was hit on the head, albeit accidentally, after his victory on May 10.

The 24-time Grand Slam winner won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, against France’s Corentin Moutet. Djokovic was signing autographs when a bottle fell on his head. Videos of the incident also went viral on the Internet.

Fortunately, he wasn’t injured and returned to the hotel later. The Serbian played the round of 32 match against Chilean-Canadian Alejandro Tabilo, which he lost 2-6, 3-6, to crash out of the tournament.
