The incident took place on Sunday (October 12, 2023) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where players from India and the Netherlands locked horns for a game of cricket in the ongoing men’s world cup.

As per a video that has gone viral on the Internet, the wife was seen beaming from ear to ear as her husband accomplished another feat.

With Kohli, who recently turned 35, records are an every-day affair as he keeps on breaking and making new ones. But, they also come in the form of his battling prowess. During the aforementioned game, Mrs. Virat Kohli celebrated her husband’s bowling display.

Coming to bowl during India’s defence of 411 runs against the Dutch brigade, Kohli managed to pick up a wicket during his first over. While it resulted in the bowler and his colleagues celebrating triumphantly, the camera panned towards the actress, who couldn’t hide her emotions.

She not only lauded her husband’s efforts, but had a smile that was filled with pride. Earlier in the day, Sharma had also celebrated her husband’s battling display as the ace batter added another half-century to his kitty.

Riding on the back of fifties from Subhman Gill, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and centuries from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, India put on a formidable 410 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

In reply, the Netherlands folded for 250 runs as Kohli and Rohit Sharma both added a wicket each to their names.

This was also Kohli’s first international wicket after nine years. His last wicket came in 2014.
