Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily confirmed 16 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection as well as seven imported cases today, a total of 23 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
13 are linked to previous cases, amongst whom 11 have already been placed on quarantine, and two were detected through surveillance. The remaining three are currently unlinked, the MOH stated.
Yesterday confirmed the detection of 25 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, taking the country's total case count to 62,028.
A 95-year-old Singaporean woman died on Sunday from COVID-19 infection, the MOH said. The woman, the 33rd COVID-19 linked fatality in Singapore, was linked to the Changi Airport Terminal 3 cluster.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 182 cases in the week before to 136 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also dropped from 39 cases in the week before to 25 cases in the past week.
With 11 more patients discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on Sunday, 61,434 cases – or 99 per cent of the total – have fully recovered from the infection.
Most of the 222 hospitalised cases are stable or improving, while three of them are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
A total of 339 patients – with mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive – are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
