‘Secret Superstar’ collects USD2.8 million in overseas markets

The Aamir-Zaira duo is winning hearts, not just in India but internationally. Secret Superstar is playing well in the international market as the film is amongst the top 10 films in the UK this week and in the top four in Turkey.

Distributed by Zee Studios International, the film has collected USD2.8 million on its release weekend across markets like UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, UAE/GCC, Pakistan and rest of the world.

Released in over 160 screens in Turkey and having a day and date release, the film has managed to be ranked amongst the top four films this week in that market. The total weekend admission for Turkey was 45385.

Commenting on the opening numbers, Vibha Chopra, Head – Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution, and Acquisition) said, “Secret Superstar is a film that is bound to connect with many hearts. It is Zaira Wasim’s second film with Aamir Khan after Dangal. The film has captured people’s interest with its realistic storyline.

Secret Superstar focuses on the story of Insia Malik, played by Zaira Wasim, who is a 15-year-old schoolgirl who finds it difficult to nurture her talent in a setting where her spirit is sapped by her father.
