South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, who played the role of Park Dong-ik in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, has been found dead inside his car in the country’s capital Seoul on Wednesday (December 27, 2023).
The actor had made the headlines a few months ago for alleged drug use and was under investigation.
As per reports, the 48-year-old actor left a suicide note which was found by his wife after he left home. The body was found inside a car at a park.
The drug investigation is said to have damaged the actor’s reputation, costing him a role from No Way Out, a mystery TV series, which began filming in October.
Lee Sun-kyun is survived by his wife, actress Jeon Hye-jin, and their two sons.
Drug consumption is a serious offence in South Korea and can also lead to prison terms of up to five years.
