Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to add Cummins to its squad by buying him for Rs 20.50 crore (USD 2.4 million).

The Hyderabadi franchise acquired Cummins’ service after an intense bidding over him with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Commencing from a base price of Rs. 2 crore, Cummins is the first player in IPL history to breach the Rs. 20-crore mark.

He surpassed English cricketer Sam Curran who was acquired by Punjab Super Kings in 2023 for Rs 18.50 crore.

The Australian leader played a crucial role in the high-voltage final match against India when his side extended its dominance in world cricket by winning the 50-over title for the sixth time.

It was Cummins’ first World Cup appearance as Australian skipper.
