In the largest single-day jump yet, Singapore recorded 728 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, April 16.
Of these, 654 live in foreign worker dormitories, while 26 are foreign workers residing outside the dormitories.
There were no new imported cases for the sixth consecutive day, since April 9. Of the new cases, 81 per cent are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.
Meanwhile, 48 local community transmissions were reported on April 16.
Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press statement that the number of new cases in the community has decreased slightly – from an average of 38 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 37 per day in the past week.
