In a Facebook post, Yakult Singapore has announced that it will stop providing straws from "end December 2018 onwards".
Over the recent months, a growing number of establishments, restaurants and manufacturers have responded to calls to cut down on the use of plastics.
Yakult Singapore has jumped on the bandwagon, noting that it will be removing straws from two of its products – Yakult and Yakult Ace Light – as part of efforts “in contributing to environment protection and sustainability”.
The probiotic milk beverage, can be “consumed directly from the bottle by removing the foil cap”.
