Walk for Hope 2025 brings Singaporeans together in a spirit of giving back and celebrating #SG60

As Singapore reaches the grand age of 60 on August 9, 2025 — a nation still quite young and yet such an achiever — it falls upon every Singaporean to give back to this unique society in whichever they can.

Time, money, volunteering energy, every little bit counts. Highlighting the importance of the social compact that defines Singapore, the charity event Walk for Hope 2025 was flagged off by Minister of State for National Development and Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan on August 2, 2025.

The 6km walk had the Singapore-based crowdfunding charity Ray of Hope as its main organiser, which was partnered by St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI).

Hundreds of participants — organisers, students, corporate sponsors, volunteers, community members — gathered on the SJI playground early in the morning on August 2, and they formed “SG60” on the field to honour their outstanding nation.

Minister Tan said that the country had journeyed from the Third World to the First World across these six decades, and now “there is plenty for us to give back — both as a country as well as a society”.

The Singapore-headquartered media brand Connected to India and the creative agency Huddl were the media partners of the event, and the Singapore-based fitness groups Trekkers@Heart and Wednesday Walkers supported the walkathon.

Coliwoo, Sunray, Beyond Medical Group, SerendipET, and Setia were the corporate sponsors of the event.

It was a morning of happiness, hope, compassion, and a resolve to make the future a better place and to ensure that no one in Singapore is left behind.
