We were honoured to be part of the launch of Walk for Hope 2025 on May 20 — an uplifting event that brought together changemakers, partners, and passionate community members united by one mission: to uplift those who’ve fallen through the cracks.
Come August 2, nearly 2,000 people in Singapore will walk to raise funds for Ray of Hope, the nation’s only crowdfunding charity dedicated to meeting unmet and emerging needs. This campaign is deeply meaningful to us at Connected to India and Huddl, both of which are proud to support the initiative alongside Ray of Hope, St. Joseph’s Institution, and Google Singapore.
The event will take place both virtually and in person, culminating in a 6km walkathon to raise SGD 500,000 — so that 100 percent of donations can continue going directly to beneficiaries.
“It’s going to be a wonderful gathering of Ray of Hope community members, together with those of us from the broader community who want to go together,” said Dr Alicia Altorfer-Ong, Executive Director of Ray of Hope.
Cai Yinzhou, who was the Guest of Honour at the Walk for Hope 2025 launch event, which took place at The Foundry on May 20, said, “Walk for Hope is really a massive effort, not just in getting the fundraising as a platform, but a massive effort in how it desires not to for a single person to write a cheque for the cause.”
“We are looking for big contributions in time, effort, sweat and blood,” the lawmaker added.
Ben King, Country Managing Director, Google Singapore, who was the Chief Guest at the same event, said, “For us, it’s wonderful to see the coming together of so many different organizations. St. Joseph’s Institution bringing their energy to the fund raising, partners like Connected to India and Huddl… to really think about the amplification of the campaign messages. So, it was an easy initiative to get behind and an easy invite to accept.”
Ray of Hope’s work enables everyday Singaporeans to give and receive help quickly and safely — combining the speed of crowdfunding with the credibility of a registered charity. This initiative is a call to walk with purpose, with empathy, and with those who often go unseen.
Let’s do this together on August 2, 2025.
