Value his guidance for further development of bilateral relationship: EAM S Jaishankar writes after meeting Vietnamese Prime Minister

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated about the guidance for further development of bilateral ties between India and Vietnam, following his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday (October 16).

"Honoured to call on PM Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam today evening. Conveyed the greetings of PM @narendramodi," Jaishankar tweeted.

"Valued his guidance for the further development of our bilateral relationship. A stronger India-Vietnam partnership contributes to a stable, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific," he said.

S. Jaishankar is on an official visit to Vietnam from October 15-18, at the invitation of Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.  

The EAM will co-chair the 18th Meeting of India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation with his counterpart.

During the tour, he will visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is expected to hold talks with the Vietnamese leadership.

He will also meet members of the Indian community and unveil Mahatma Gandhi’s bust in Ho Chi Minh City.

Meanwhile, he also inaugurated the bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Tao Dan Park in Ho Chi Minh City.

"The unveiling of the bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Tao Dan Park of Ho Chi Minh City is of great significance," he said. "Underlines the message of independence, self-reliance and human dignity that brings & together," Jaishankar wrote on X.

"Privileged to participate in the inauguration along with Vice Chairman Duong Anh Duc," he said.
