The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has announced a Global Art competition entitled “United against Corona – Express through Art”.
ICCR is calling on professional and amateur artists as well as child and student artists (below the age of 21), from India and around the world, to express themselves and their feelings during these trying times and win prizes.
In view of the ongoing lockdown in India and in many countries across the world as well as the restrictions on postal, courier and transport agencies, ICCR has requested participants to send high resolution photos of their work via email.
The objective of the competition is to promote art in India and the world during the COVID-19 stay home quarantines and lockdowns.
ICCR tweeted the details of how to enter the competition with the hashtag #ArtinthetimeofCorona.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister.
Its objectives are:
- To actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations;
- To foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries;
- To promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people, and to develop relations with nations.
