India’s latest mainstream cinematic magnum opus Adipurush, starring Prabhas of Baahubali fame, is to have its world premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Festival in New York on June 13, 2023. This is seen as a huge feat for the Adipurush team — National Film Award-winning director Om Raut, co-producer Bhushan Kumar, and lead stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, among others — as Indian cinema gets yet another showcase on a prestigious global stage.
Adipurush is a depiction of the great Indian mythological epic, Ramayana. The film will release in India and other countries on June 16, shortly after its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival, which runs from June 7 to 18, 2023.
The Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX and founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001, brings cinema artistes and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms. Adipurush, which is a visual feast, will be showcased in the 3D format as a ‘Midnight Offering’ at the festival.

Adipurush stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles, and is scheduled to release in cinemas globally on June 16, 2023.
