An Indian-American student, Jaanu Patel has been crowned ‘Miss California Teen USA’ at a dazzling event held at the Long Beach Terrace Center on December 4.
Patel was earlier selected as ‘Miss Huntington Beach Teen USA 2016’ in February at the preliminaries for the statewide contest.
Patel said she is grateful for the strong support of her parents, elder brother and grandparents.
A Bollywood dancer for 12 years with NDM Bollywood Dance Studios, Patel has been studying and learning Kathak dancing for ten years.
Her active participation in her model United Nations program in school made her travel to Canada, Montreal, to represent her school at an international debate conference.
Her main ambition is a career in the medical field and currently has an internship with Kaiser Permanente.
The Miss Teen USA 2017 contest will be held in July in Las Vegas, Nevada.
