Singtel’s 5G SA has 30% faster uploads, stronger authentication and encryption capability, and greater bandwidth, an official statement read.

“5G SA will also fuel new innovations, being a key enabler of the digital transformation across industry sectors” said Anna Yip, CEO, Consumer Singapore, Singtel.

Singtel and Samsung, Singtel’s official 5G SA launch partner, have teamed up to give selected customers early access to the 5G network on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G handsets.  Customers that deliver creative submissions on the impact of 5G technology will be selected to receive a ‘5G Power Up’ kit as well.

Since September 2020, Singtel has been operating Singapore's fastest 5G Non Standalone Network (NSA) under a trial. Within a year of receiving its 5G licence, Singtel has now launched 5G SA and installed 5G sites across Singapore in key areas like Orchard Road and Marina Bay.

Singtel looks to the future by accelerating its 5G innovation and adoption by launching Genie, the world’s first portable 5G-in-a-box platform, and expanding with 5G Multi-access Edge Compute trials in collaboration with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
