Singapore confirmed an additional 191 cases of COVID-19 infection on Saturday, April 11, with none being imported cases.
Of the new cases, 52 are linked to known clusters, and 191 are pending contact tracing.
A 90 year-old male Singapore Citizen (Case 1142) passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on the morning of April 11. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on April 3 and was admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on the same day.
The man is Singapore's eighth recorded death from COVID-19 infection. NCID has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them, Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press statement.
The ministry also noted that three new clusters have been identified.
Eight earlier confirmed cases are now linked to a new cluster at Westlite Woodlands dormitory (2 Woodlands Sector 2). Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to four previous cases to form a new cluster at North Coast Lodge (51 North Coast Avenue).
Another two newly confirmed cases are linked to three previous cases, forming a new cluster at Cassia @ Penjuru (15 Penjuru Walk).
Meanwhile, 35 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 528 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged.
