According to trade reports, Kaala is doing extremely well in the international market. As we know, Rajinikanth commands a loyal fan base in Malaysia and Singapore.

According to latest reports, Kaala has bagged the second position in terms of opening weekend collections in Malaysia.

The film has collected SGD 1.5 million so far in Malaysia. However, Kaala couldn't beat the box office collections of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in Malaysia.

In addition to that, Kaala is minting profits in the US as well. Recently, the film registered a record USD1 million (INR6.7 crore approx) and is expected to gross USD2 million (INR13.5 crore approx) in the coming days.

Reportedly, Kaala will be retained in most of the theatres as there are no big releases coming up this week.

In Kaala, Rajinikanth essays the role of a slum lord named Karikalan. While Eswari Rao plays the role of his wife, Huma Qureshi is seen as Karikalan's ex-fiancee in the film.
