As previously reported by People in October, Jamie was severely ill and was hospitalised with a bacterial infection earlier this year.

Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ, Jamie had a massive infection in one of his legs that landed him in a hospital for weeks. He had 5 unsuccessful surgeries to contain the infection, and doctors decided the only way to proceed was amputation.

Along with the pop icon, Jamie also shares daughter Jamie Lynn, 32, and son Bryan, 46, with his ex-wife Lynne, 68.

Britney shared a strained relationship with her family members under a conservatorship in 2008.

Two months before the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her father was removed from his role as Britney’s estate conservator, reports People.
