Security forces have released sketches of two suspected terrorists who carried out an attack on the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday. The attack led to the death of one IAF soldier, while injuring four others.

The Army’s operation to catch the suspects entered its third day on Monday.

The security forces also announced a bounty of INR 20 lakhs (USD 23,952) and assured people that the identities of those sharing details of the terrorists will not be revealed.

It is pertinent to note that a well-coordinated joint operation by the army and police is underway in many areas, including Shahsitar, Gursai, Sanai, and Sheendara Top, in connection with neutralising the terrorists who are believed to have fled into a forest after the attack, reported India TV.

According to reports, 20 people have been detained so far.

At least five Indian security forces personnel were injured when terrorists were engaged in a gunfight with them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch region on Saturday.

The attack occurred when the forces were moving towards Sanai Top in the district’s Surankote area.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby military hospital for medical treatment.

IAF’s Corporal Vikky Pahade died later.
