PM Lee to separately meet US President Trump and North Korean leader Kim: MFA

The focus of the entire world is currently on Singapore as US President Donald Trump will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un day after tomorrow for the first-ever bilateral talks between the two heads of state. Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong will have separate meetings with both the leaders as well.

“Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will have separate meetings with Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and President of the United States (US) Donald J Trump on 10 June and 11 June, respectively when they visit Singapore for the US-DPRK Summit,” said Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore in a statement issued today.

President Donald Trump is expected to reach Singapore on Sunday night while North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will reach the island today during afternoon.

There are high expectations from the meeting as it could be a precursor to bring permanent peace in Korean peninsula.

Trump is coming to Singapore directly from the G7 summit in Canada.
