Owner sets pet Pitbull on woman protesting against dog’s defecation in New Delhi

A protest turned near fatal for a woman, who objected to her neighbour’s dog’s defecation, in the national capital after a man set his pet Pitbull on her. The incident took place on November 3 in the Swaroop Nagar area of New Delhi.

Visuals of the shocking incident have also emerged as it was captured on surveillance camera. As per the video, which has now gone viral on the Internet, it can be seen that a woman, wearing a turquoise salwar kameez, pointing her finger towards a house.

A dog can also be seen sniffing the feet of a man, who stands a few feet away from the woman. The man backs away as the dog waits a while and then attacks the woman.

Several seconds later, the quadruped is separated as a mob gathers. The woman is seen holding her left hand, which is likely to have been bitten by the pooch.

Later, reports confirmed the same and identified the victim as Riya Devi, who sustained several injuries after she complained about the dog defecating outside her house regularly. Reports stated that the pooch’s owner paid no heed to the complaints, which eventually led to the November 3 incident.

A case has been registered against the dog’s owner. As per reports, law enforcement officers have registered a case under Section 289 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The aforementioned section relates to negligent conduct with respect to animals.

Riya Devi has sustained injuries on her face, hands, and legs. She was taken to the hospital where she received aid.

A probe is currently underway.
