At least one person died and five others, including two teens, were injured during a shooting incident inside a subway station in Bronx region of New York on Monday (February 12, 2024).
Up to 10 shots were fired at the Mount Eden Avenue station after a fight between two groups of teenagers broke out aboard a northbound 4 train at around 4:40 p.m., creating “total pandemonium,” witness and police told New York Post.
A 35-year-old man was killed after he was shot in the chest, police and sources told the newspaper.
His identity is still not known.
The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.
As the train pulled into the Bronx station and the doors opened, at least one individual pulled a gun and started shooting, NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper was quoted as saying by New York Post.
