More than 25 world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and UK PM Rishi Sunak, are participating in the two-day G20 Summit at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi, starting today.
The world leaders started arriving in India yesterday for the crucial geopolitical summit, which Indian PM Narendra Modi said, will chart a new path in human-centric and inclusive development. Narendra Modi arrived at the Convention Centre today to welcome the guests.
The Prime Minister last evening met US President Joe Biden at his official residence in New Delhi for bilateral discussions, shortly after Biden landed in New Delhi for the G20 Summit. A joint statement was issued after their meeting.
Biden's plane – Air Force One – touched down at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport shortly before 7pm.
The Prime Minister's Office shared photos of the two leaders holding talks on "a wide range of issues (that) will further deepen the bond between India and the US".
Calling their meeting 'productive', PM Modi said, "We were able to discuss numerous topics which will further economic and people-to-people linkages between India and USA. The friendship between our nations will continue to play a great role in furthering global good."
Heads of state, top officials from the European Union, invited guest countries, and 14 heads of international organisations are attending the G20 Summit.
