SIFAS is a leading Singapore-based institution that nurtures and promotes the rich and diverse Indian art and culture, with an emphasis on Indian classical music and dance. SIFAS’ latest dance production ‘Human I Nature’ revisits the relationship between people and the planet.

Through the medium of Bharatanatyam, this dance production tells the story of the greed that underpins human civilisation and its catastrophic consequences for the natural world. The separation between the words ‘human’ and ‘nature’ in the production title reflects the artificial barriers created by modernity and their unsustainable impact on the environment. As the SIFAS troupe members describe it, this performance represents a “universal concept” that everyone can relate to; it is an “arc of emotions, music, and dance”.

The venue is Esplanade Theatre Studio, and the performance dates are September 22-24, 2023; Timings: Fri & Sat: 8pm, Sun: 3pm. Tickets are available on Sistic.com
