Indian-American executive receives IEEE leadership award

Sethuraman Panchanathan, vice president of Arizona State University’s Knowledge Enterprise Development and chief research and innovation officer at the university, has been honoured for his leadership and professional service by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Phoenix Section.

Panchanathan said in a statement, “Being a member and fellow of a prestigious organisation such as IEEE that continues to advance innovation in the field and inspire students has been an important part of my career as an educator, researcher and leader.”

Vasudeva Prasad Atluri, IEEE Phoenix Awards Committee chair and Charles E. Weitzel, committee vice-chair, said Panchanathan was selected for this year’s award for exemplifying the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation and social responsibility.

The Indian-American engineer Panchanathan helps advance research, innovation, entrepreneurship, strategic partnerships, and global and economic development at the university.

IEEE Phoenix Awards honours members who have made an outstanding and noteworthy contribution through their careers to their institutes and communities.
