Eid mubarak from around the world

On Wednesday, June 5, Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr, a festival that marks the end of Ramadan. Here's a look at some incredible images from celebrations around the world.

In Singapore, the festival is known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa. At the heart of the celebrations is the Geylang Serai Bazaar, set up a month before the occasion. Stalls offer a vast array of Malay and Middle Eastern products – including cakes, clothes, sweets and savoury delicacies.

The Singapore government's official Facebook page posted a video poking gentle fun at a question many young people face from their families during festive occasions – being asked when they are going to get married.

India's Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "May this special day ignite the spirit of harmony, compassion and peace in our society," wishing his followers a "blessed Id-ul-Fitr".

Meanwhile, UK's Labour Party leader of opposition, Jeremy Corbyn shared on Twitter snippets of the different Iftars he attended.

In Dubai, fireworks lit up the city skies to mark the celebrations for Eid.
