Dubai boasts of world’s quickest ambulance

Close on the heels of posting a record for the world’s fastest police car, Dubai now boasts of having the world’s quickest ambulance which can hit a top speed of 300 km/h. The purpose of the first responder vehicles is that they can reach the scene of an emergency in half the time conventional ambulances take.

Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) showcased one of the vehicles – a 300kmh Mustang – recently at the second International Ambulance Conference in Dubai.

DCAS also made the announcement that it had added five more vehicles to its ambulance fleet that will be the world's fastest rescue cars – a Lotus Evora, two Ford Mustangs, a Dodge Challenger and a Nissan (model not identified).

Khalifa bin Drai, Dubai Ambulance's executive director, said, “Each of the new rescue cars can carry two paramedics to emergencies. The vehicles are equipped with defibrillators, CPR equipment, blood pressure and diabetes monitors and various medications for injuries and fractures.”

The luxury ambulances are being deployed in tourist areas as well as venues hosting conferences and big festivals.

These ambulances are being operated by emergency technical teams and qualified paramedics to handle the serious injuries.
