Southern star Dhanush and his wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth have filed for divorce, media reports said.
Sources close to the couple told IndiaToday that they have filed the petition under Section 13 B – divorce by mutual consent.
The southern power couple had announced their decision to part ways in 2022.
Almost a year and a half later, the two filed petitions for divorce by mutual consent, India Today reported.
The case will be soon heard.
The couple have been living separately for the past two years.
After the announcement, they were seen at their sons, Yatra and Linga’s school events, the Indian news channel reported.
The couple was married for 18 years.
On January 17, 2022, Dhanush posted on X: “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better (sic).”
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth married in 2004.
They are now parents to Yatra and Linga.
Aishwaryaa, the eldest daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, got married to Dhanush in 2004.
