Amit Shah meets K Shanmugam, discusses India-Singapore bilateral relations

India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs and Law, K. Shanmugam in New Delhi on Saturday. The two leaders discussed a number of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest during the meeting.

Shah said that India-Singapore relations are based on shared values and approaches, economic opportunities and convergence of interest on key issues.

He also said that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore last year a new momentum was added to the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Shah and Shanmugam also exchanged concerns on the challenges posed by terrorism and extremism and agreed to strengthen the existing bilateral institutional mechanisms on security issues.

Both leaders also agreed to enhance cooperation in dealing with trans-national organised crimes including drug trafficking and economic offences.
