8 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore on October 22, including 7 imported infections

The Ministry of Health reported 8 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on October 22. This takes the national tally of confirmed infections to 57, 941.

There is 1 new case of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection among the new cases, who resides in a dormitory. There are no new cases in the community.  

Additionally, there are 7 imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore, said MOH in its preliminary release of figures. 

"We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight," the ministry added.
