The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 675 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on May 13. This brings the country’s total tally to 25,346.
The vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories. This is due to the extensive testing being conducted in these dormitories to verify and test the status of all workers.
Of the new cases, 99 per cent are linked to known clusters.
There were four cases reported in the local community, with two of them being Singaporeans/Permanent residents. MOH noted in its press release that the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 8 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 6 per day in the past week.
Meanwhile, 958 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on May 13.
