6 new locally transmitted and 1 imported COVID-19 case in Singapore on October 5

The Ministry of Health has reported seven new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on October 5. This takes the national tally of confirmed infections to 57,819. 

All new cases are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters.

There are six new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, of whom one is in the community. She had been identified as a contact of a previously confirmed case who is her household member, and was placed on quarantine on October 3. 

The remaining five cases reside in dormitories, said MOH. 

Additionally, there is one imported case who is asymptomatic. He had been placed on 14-day SHN upon arrival in Singapore, and was tested while serving SHN at a dedicated facility.
