The Ministry of Health has reported 246 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on June 30. This takes the nation’s tally of infections to 43,907.

The vast majority of the new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

There is an imported case involving a Singapore Permanent Resident who had returned to Singapore from India on June 24. She was placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore, and had been conveyed in a dedicated transport to an SHN facility to commence her 14-day isolation. She developed symptoms during SHN.

There are also six cases in the community, of whom two are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents and three are Work Pass holders.

Among the two Singaporean cases, one was detected due to proactive surveillance of persons deployed to frontline COVID-19 operations. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the remaining case.

Among the 3 Work Permit holders, two had been swabbed as part of our proactive screening of workers in essential services. The remaining case is asymptomatic, and had been tested as he works in frontline COVID-19 operations.

Phase 2 of the COVID-19 circuit breaker re-opening begins from July 1 with various tourism related businesses reopening, including ArtScience Museum, Sands SkyPark and Observation Deck, Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay and Madame Tussauds.
