Shah Rukh Khan locked the ‘Dirk Gently…’ deal on Twitter

‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ is all set to get a global viewership boost as Shah Rukh Khan is going to appear on season two of the science-fiction series, ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’. Interestingly, the deal between SRK and the producers of the show was locked on Twitter.

The show by Arvind Ethan David is a BBC drama based on Douglas Adams’ novel series of the same name. The show revolves around Dirk Gently’s character who investigates cases involving the supernatural.

Social media has shrunk the world. King Khan wasn’t personally approached for the show. The deal got finalised on a public platform – Twitter. The 51-year-old star who was clueless about the TV adaptation of the novel, tweeted a picture of himself writing, “‘Dirk Gently’ is a TV series!! And I didn’t know it! Woe be upon me. Sorry Adams. The pic is for no apparent reason.”

The executive producer of the show David saw SRK’s tweet and offered him to guest star on the show. “Amazing to discover that @iamsrk is a #dirkgently fan. Come guest star in #Season2,” he tweeted.

An excited David, tweeted, “It’s possible I got a bit too excited that #ShahRukhKhan likes #dirkgently – do you think he noticed?”


SRK promptly accepted the invitation and tweeted, “Let me know the time and place. Will figure out my own accommodation!”

Finally, David locked the deal on Twitter by posting, “Done and done.”

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ stars Hollywood stars like Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Hannah Marks and Fiona Dourif.
