A terrifying video has surfaced from Mumbai’s Bhandup area, showing a massive landslide where a protective wall and several houses collapsed down a hill following heavy rains on the evening of July 22.

The incident took place behind Omega High School in the Khindipada area and has since gone viral on social media, with locals capturing the dramatic moment on their mobile phones.
The hill, around fifty feet high, had a strong protective barrier built to prevent such disasters. However, due to the continuous rainfall in the city, the wall reportedly developed a deep fissure.
Soon after, the structure gave way, and multiple houses located close to it came crashing down along with large chunks of earth and debris.

Despite the scale of the collapse, no injuries have been reported. According to local authorities, residents had been evacuated in time after the early signs of danger were noticed, which helped avoid any casualties. In total, five houses are said to have been destroyed in the incident.
The video shows the terrifying moment when the wall begins to slide, followed by a loud rumble as the soil gives way and the houses tumble down in seconds. Debris is seen crashing into the ground while residents can be heard reacting in shock from a distance.
The incident has raised concerns in the area, especially as more rain is expected in the coming days.
