Watch: Glory and Grandeur of Pradhana Vizah 2018

Beyond the glory and the grandeur, it was an emotional night no less.

Members of the audience choked back tears as the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the late Mr K. Isuran at Pradhana Vizha 2018 Awards.

An illustrious artiste who has contributed to local Indian media and the community at large for over 40 years, Mr Isuran is deeply etched in the memories of those who grew up watching Vasantham. The award was received by Mrs Isuran and their son Jaya Ganesh Isuran, a Vasantham celebrity and Oli 96.8FM radio.

Veteran actors were also honoured at the important annual event for local Indian TV.

Mr Jayaram Ramaiya, who won the Best Actor in a Comedy Role award, is the oldest person to win an award in Pradhana Vizha’s history. At 79 years old, he is still very active in the Vasantham drama scene. Mr Jayaram won the award for his role in the drama, Ithu Namma Veedu.

A total of 19 awards were handed out at this year’s ceremony, held at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. Here is our coverage of a night many will not forget and many others would wish that they were there.
