Visa-free travel for Indians to Malaysia now: DPM

Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who has been on a four-day visit to Qatar has made some important announcements for Indians living in Qatar.

Indians living outside their country can enjoy visa-free travel to Malaysia now, said Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“We welcome them to visit Malaysia as tourists. This will help increase our foreign exchange earnings as tourist arrivals will go up,” said the DPM.

Dr Ahmad Zahid explained that having a free welcome didn’t mean that nation’s security would be compromised as they would have to undergo Airline Passenger Security Screening (APSS) before being allowed entry into Malaysia.

He also added that this new feature will attract around 500,000 Indian nationals currently in Qatar as businessmen, professionals and technical experts.
