Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma today welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in Mumbai.
Sharing the news, the proud father put up a social media post, saying, “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”
Virushka, as the couple are known, announced the pregnancy in August 2020 with posts on social media that read, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.”
Virat had flown with the Indian cricket team to Australia but returned after the first Test to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.
