The celebrities will be performing from their own homes in a 90-minute long recorded show. Vasantham LIVE! Arpanam will be telecast 'live' on Vasantham at 7pm on Thursday, May 7. It will also be streamed simultaneously for free on meWATCH.

In a press statement, Mediacorp said Vasantham LIVE! Arpanam is the latest addition to its bumped up array of content offerings to encourage people to stay home during the COVID-19 outbreak.

"With this virtual concert, we hope to lift the spirits of migrant workers through the power of music, together with other earlier efforts to keep audiences informed and entertained." Initiatives announced previously include the extended TV transmission hours of Vasantham and the availability of over 400 movies in Tamil, Hindi and Bengali on meWATCH for free.

In addition, Mediacorp employees are also actively doing their part to reach out to the workers in their personal capacities. Under the Mediacorp Cares CSR programme, employees are volunteering in a pilot programme to teach English to migrant workers virtually, in support of an initiative driven by It’s Raining Raincoats.
