Two new cases of COVID-19 in Singapore, one patient discharged as of March 4

As of 12 pm on March 4, the Ministry of Health has confirmed two new cases of the novel coronavirus infection in Singapore. This brings the total number of cases in the island nation to 112. Of these, 79 patients have recovered and been discharged, including one patient discharged today. 

Case 111: A 43 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions but who had been in Malaysia from February 18-21. He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National University Hospital (NUH).

He reported the onset of symptoms on February 24 and had sought treatment at a general practitioner clinic on the same day and on February 28. He presented at Sengkang General Hospital on February 27 and NUH on March 3. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection.

Prior to hospital admission, he had mostly stayed at his home at Compassvale Street.

Case 112: A 62 year-old female Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 4 morning and is warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). 

She works at Creative O Preschoolers’ Bay (31 International Business Park) as a non-teaching staff. She is linked to Case 94 who is a 64 year-old female Singapore Citizen who was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on February 26.

Case 110 (Announced on March 3): A 33 year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID. He is linked to the cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd.

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd. He stays at Upper Boon Keng Road.

The MOH has also said that of the 33 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving while seven are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
