If you are intending to drive into Malaysia during the mid-year school holidays, do expect delays and adjust your travel plans accordingly.

In an advisory, the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said traffic flow through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas is expected to be heavy from Friday, May 31 till Sunday, June 30.

Traffic is expected to be particularly heavy on the eve and actual day of Hari Raya Puasa, as well as on weekends throughout the school holiday period.

ICA also added that in view of security checks, traffic build-up is inevitable. This is especially sowhen large number of travellers use the checkpoints at the same time. Travellers are therefore advised to plan ahead and be prepared to adjust their travel plans if necessary.

Before setting off on their journey, travellers are also reminded to ensure that they are using their own passports with a remaining validity of six months or more.
