In a heartwarming and unexpected moment that has now gone viral on the Internet, a baby elephant wandered into the premises of a government primary school in the Chekadi region of Kerala in southern India, leaving students and teachers both stunned and amused.

The incident occurred at the Government LP School Chekadi, nestled in a forest-fringed hamlet in Wayanad district, an area known for its proximity to wildlife corridors.
The curious young calf was seen meandering around the school compound, even attempting to enter the school through a closed door. The brief yet delightful encounter was captured on camera, drawing reactions from social media users who cannot stop admiring the sheer cuteness of the wild visitor.
The video was first shared on Instagram by @hashtag_wayanad with the caption, “A wild elephant came to Chekadi School..!”
The visuals show the elephant calf calmly exploring the area, sniffing around and showing interest in the school building before eventually walking away.
Many online viewers have jokingly speculated that the little elephant might have come to seek admission or ask for a Transfer Certificate, adding a light-hearted twist to the unusual sighting.
According to a report by Onmanorama, the school, which also accommodates pre-primary students, has around 115 children enrolled. Spread across one acre, the school campus occasionally sees wild elephants passing by, especially after sunset, but such a close encounter in broad daylight is rare.
