She addressed the issue during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.

The 47-year-old was quoted as saying by People, "Well, actually, the truth is that I had just been every now and again writing a song here or there for the last six, seven years."

Sia described the phase of her life as a 'dark time' and said: "I got divorced and that really threw me for a loop. That was such a dark time that I was in bed for three years, really, really severely depressed."

She added: "I couldn't really do anything for that period of time."

Sia and Lang married in 2014. They divorced in 2016.

Sia had remained private about her personal life ever since her divorce.

Seven years later, she married her boyfriend, Dan Bernad, in May this year.

Meanwhile, her new album Reasonable Woman is expected to be released next year.

The singer-songwriter recently released a single from the album titled 'Gimme Love'.

The single dropped on Wednesday (September 13, 2023).
