Singapore reports new one-day high of 14 COVID-19 cases on March 15

Singapore reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 infection as of 12pm on March 15 – a new daily high – bringing the total number of cases in the city to 226. 

Of these, two are part of the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on February 15, nine are imported cases and three are linked to previous cases.

Case 213: An imported case involving a 48 year-old male Singapore Citizen who had been in Indonesia from March 4 to 13.

The man reported onset of symptoms on 8 March while in Indonesia, and presented at the emergency department of Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) on March 13. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on March 14 afternoon.

He stays at Serangoon North Avenue 3.

Case 214: A 29 year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries and region. He reported onset of symptoms on March 5 and had sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on March 6 and 8. He presented at National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on March 14, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection that afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, the man had visited Youth Go! (403 Fajar Road), Project 180 @ Simei (145 Simei Street 2) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (463 Clementi Road). He stays at Jurong West Street 71.

Case 215: An imported case involving a 65 year-old Singapore Citizen who had been in Thailand from 7 March to 10 March. He reported onset of symptoms on March 13 and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on the same day. He presented at the emergency department of Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on March 13, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection the next afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, the man had gone to work at Cash Box (1 Jurong West Central 2). He stays at Mei Ling Street.

Case 216: An imported case involving a 30 year-old Singapore Citizen who had been in Germany from February 28 to March 1, and again on March 5 to 6. He visited Czech Republic from March 1 to 5.

The man reported onset of symptoms on March 9, and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on March 10 and 12. He was referred to NCID on March 12, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on March 14.

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work at SAP Asia (30 Pasir Panjang Road). He stays at Bukit Batok West Avenue 6.

Case 217: An imported case involving a 22 year-old Spanish national who is a Singapore Long Term Pass holder, and had been in Spain from March 9 to 13.

The man reported onset of symptoms on March 13, and was referred to NCID on the same day. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on March 14.

He stays in the Mount Sophia area.

Case 218: A 55 year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. She is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.

The woman reported onset of symptoms on March 2, and had sought treatment at two GP clinics on March 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. She presented at National University Hospital (NUH) on March 9, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on  March 14.

Prior to hospital admission, she mostly stayed at her home at Pending Road except to seek medical treatment.

Case 219: A 30 year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15, and is currently warded in an isolation room at SKH. He is linked to Cases 1421 and 211.          

Case 220: An imported case involving a 53 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who had been in France from March 10 to 12. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15.

Case 221: A 28 year-old female Filipino national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, and has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15 and is a contact of Case 204. She is employed as a teaching staff at MY World Preschool Ltd (52 Lengkok Bahru). 

Case 222: An imported case involving a 41 year-old male French national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, and had been to France from February 28 to March 7, and March 9 to 10. He also visited Spain from March 7 to 9, and the Philippines from March 12 to 13. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15.

Case 223: An imported case involving a 60 year-old male Singapore Citizen, and had been in the United States from February 28 to March 7,and Australia from March 7 to 13. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15.

Case 224: A 50 year-old male Singapore Citizen, who had been in Malaysia from March 1 to 4. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15, and is a contact of Case 117. 

The man is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.

Case 225: An imported case involving a 63 year-old male Singapore Citizen, who had been in Indonesia from March 3 to 7. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15.

Case 226: An imported case involving a 49 year-old male Dutch national. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on March 15.
