For the second day in a row, Singapore reports more than 300 new COVID-19 cases, majority of which are linked to foreign worker dormitories.
As of 12pm on April 14, the Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed an additional 334 cases of COVID-19 infection in the country, none of which are imported cases.
198 have been linked to known clusters, of which the vast majority are Work Permit holders in the dormitories. A new cluster at PPT Lodge 1A (8 Seletar North Link) has also been identified, MOH said in a press statement.
Two cases from the public healthcare sector – a doctor and a nurse – have also been reported.
Case 2738 is a 22 year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. A nurse at Singapore General Hospital, she reported onset of symptoms on April 12 and has not gone to work since.
Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on April 13. The patient is currently warded at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). She is a family member of Cases 2419 and 2739.
Case 3014 is a 41 year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. A doctor at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he reported onset of symptoms on April 9, and has not gone to work since.
Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on April 13. The patient is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
