As part of its SG60 celebrations, Singapore has introduced a new initiative called the SG Culture Pass, aimed at encouraging citizens to explore and engage with the nation’s rich arts and heritage landscape. This programme officially began on Monday, September 1, and is available to all Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above.

SGD 100 credits for every citizen
Under the SG Culture Pass, eligible citizens will receive SGD 100 worth of credits. These credits can be used to offset the cost of tickets for a wide range of local arts, culture, and heritage activities.
Events and programmes offered by authorised ticketing partners will be eligible for payment using the credits.
The initiative is designed to make it easier for Singaporeans to participate in cultural experiences, including live performances, guided heritage trails, workshops, and more.
How to set up and use the Culture Pass?
To begin using the SG Culture Pass, citizens need to create their profile on the official SG Culture Pass website. After tapping the “Log In” button, users must log in using their Singpass credentials.
Once logged in, they will be prompted to check their details and complete a short survey. This process also subscribes them to updates and perks from Cash, the official marketing partner for the Culture Pass.
After completing the profile setup, users can browse eligible events by tapping “Explore Events”. From there, they can view a variety of local offerings and choose events that interest them.
When selecting tickets through authorised ticketing partners, users can use their SG Culture Pass credits at checkout by selecting it under the payment options.
If the ticket cost exceeds the available credits, the remaining amount can be paid using either a credit card or PayNow. The system automatically uses all available Culture Pass credits during each transaction, as per the official directive.
Singaporeans have been advised to be cautious and verify that they are on the official SG Culture Pass website before entering any personal information.
Government’s vision for culture and identity
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong highlighted the significance of the initiative in his SG60 message to the nation. He said: “Hi everyone, we have much to celebrate in this SG60 year. But it’s not just our economic success.”
“Over a relatively short period of time, and amidst our diversity, we have forged a distinctive Singaporean culture and identity. That is something truly special. But culture is never static. Every generation adds its own voice and energy. So we must all do our part to evolve and nurture this Singaporean culture together.
“This is why we are launching a new SG Culture Pass. From 1st September, every Singaporean age 18 and above will get SGD 100 in Culture Pass credits.
“You can use that for arts, culture and heritage activities. Then you can find out more at the SG Culture Pass website. I hope all of you make good use of the pass.
“Explore something new. Support our artists and cultural practitioners. Most of all, let us celebrate the richness of our shared culture and all that makes us uniquely Singaporean,” the Prime Minister added.
Encouraging cultural participation
The SG Culture Pass is expected to open new doors for many Singaporeans who may not have previously engaged with local arts and heritage. With a wide selection of events and activities available, the programme aims to strengthen cultural participation and appreciation across the country.
