From February 12 this year, Singapore and New Zealand nationals will be able to make use of automated immigration clearance facilities when travelling to each other’s country.
The Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a press statement that holders of New Zealand passports will be able to apply for Singapore’s Frequent Traveller Programme (FTP). However, individuals need to be aged six and above, holding a passport with more than six months’ validity and have visited Singapore at least twice in the past two years.
Likewise, eligible Singaporeans will also be able to make use of similar automated immigration clearance facilities in New Zealand.
Enrollment for the FTP by New Zealand nationals is voluntary and free. Those who are interested can apply for the FTP at the enrollment centres located at Terminal 3 Changi Airport, the Visitor Services Centre at the ICA Building, as well as at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.
The mutual extension of such automated immigration clearance facilities is part of the Singapore – New Zealand Enhanced Partnership. It is expected to boost trade, business and tourism links between both countries.
