SIA and Scoot offer flexible rebooking for customers amid COVID-19 travel cancellations

In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that it is waiving all rebooking fees for tickets issued on or before March 15, for travel up to May 31, 2020.

This will take place with immediate effect, the national carrier said in a press statement.

Customers can cancel their existing flight itineraries, retain the value of their tickets and rebook their travel at a later date. The new flight itinerary should be completed by March 31, 2021.

All rebooking fees will be waived, although a fare difference may apply for the new itinerary.

For all new SIA and SilkAir tickets issued from now to March 31, the airline will also waive change fees.

Meanwhile, SIA Group's budget arm Scoot is also offering voucher refunds for the full value of bookings made on or before March 15. This applies with immediate effect for travel up to May 31.

These vouchers are valid for 12 months, and can be used for rebooking travel at a later date. Scoot will be launching a self-service portal for all eligible customers to obtain such voucher refunds. The portal will be ready within a few days.

Scoot said in a statement that it will update customers via its website, social media channels and email notifications.

For all bookings made between March 15 and May 31, the airline will also extend a one-time free date change, though fare differences could apply.
