SES upset defending champions Madras to keep locals’ hopes alive

Singapore Emerging Stars (SES) continued their fairy tale run, ousting defending champions Madras Cricket Club in the first semi-final of the 5th International SCC T20 2017 at the Padang Cricket Ground. The local team defeated the Indian club by six wickets with an over to spare in an exciting high-scoring match.

SES’ upset win will have made Singaporeans happy, especially after the host side Singapore Cricket Club fell agonisingly short in the Group stages. The local team will be hoping they can raise their game once more in the final to cap a dream first appearance in the tournament.
