Salman Khan rerun

The incident brought back memories of a hit-and-run case which involved Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

The Bombay High Court in 2015 acquitted Khan, one of the prominent movie stars in India and known for working in several hit box office movies in his career,  of all charges in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case.

Before the High Court acquitted him, a Mumbai criminal court had found the actor guilty of culpable homicide and accused him of losing control of his Toyota  Land Cruiser while driving in a drunk state in 2002.

At least one person died after the car hit people who were sleeping on a footpath in Mumbai.

Four people were injured in the mishap.
